185 Fund Impact Report

A new impact report from Green Mountain United Way and United Way of Northwest Vermont shows the results of a recent investment in our 185 Fund/Bridge Fund.

Thanks to North Country Federal Credit Union, this $15,000 grant supported United Way’s Working Bridges 185 Fund and Bridge Fund, managed by Green Mountain United Way and United Way of Northwest Vermont to support employees across eight counties in Northern Vermont. By addressing scarcity at work, Resource Coordinators were able to meet employee needs, providing relief in immediate crises, tackling daily challenges, and supporting long term financial goals of employees.

The Bridge Fund and 185 Fund is one tool that is used by the Resource Coordinators to offer one-time relief to employees who are in financial crisis. This small-dollar assistance allows them to stabilize their household budget and move beyond the immediate crisis, so that they can plan for a stronger financial future.
